      What is search engine optimalization? SEO, which stands for search engine optimization, is a set of practices designed to improve the appearance and positioning of web pages in organic search results. There are two categories of SEO: On-site SEO and Off-Site SEO. Let’s start with more about on-site SEO.

      The goal of on-site SEO is to optimize the elements-text, images, videos, files, URLs, page titles and meta descriptions- on your website in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic from search engines. Just like search engine advertising, keywords are an important part of SEO.

      KEYWORD RESEARCH;

      finding the right keywords for your content is the first first step to creating an effective SEO campaign. In this lesson, you will learn about the diffrent tools and strategies you can use to improve your keyword research. By performing keyword research, you'll not only learn which terms and phrases to target for SEO, but also gain an insight into your customer's needs and wants.

      It's important to keep in mind that keyword research isn't just about getting a ton of visitors to your site. It's also about getting the right kind of visitors. With effective keyword research, you can accurately predict shifts in customer demand, respond to changing market conditions, and produce the products, services, and content that web searchers are actively seeking. The first step to effective keyword research is to determine the value of your target keywords.

      Start by asking yourself the following questions.

      Is the keyword relevant to your website's content?

      Start by asking yourself the following questions.

      Is the keyword relevant to your website's content?

      Will searchers find what they are looking for on your site when they search using these keywords?

      Will they be happy with what they find? Will this traffic result in financial rewards or other organizational goals?

      If the answer to all of these questions is a "yes," then you can move on to the next step.

      The next step involves searching for the keyword or phrase in major search engines and understanding which websites already rank for your keyword. This will give you a better picture of the competition in your niche, and help you determine how hard it will be to rank for the given term. Be sure to make a note of any search advertisements at the top and right-hand side of the organic result as well. Typically, the more search ads you see, the higher the value of the keyword.

      You can also use Google Keyword Planner tool to determine the value of a keyword. The video in the next card shows you how by "Joshhall.com"' https://youtu.be/HUObNrsbTC8

      When performing keyword research, it's important to include both long-tail and short-tail keywords in your strategy.

      As you learned in the search engine ads unit, Short-tail keywords are keywords with 1-3 words, whereas long-tail keywords consist of four or more words.

      For example, "slippers" is a short-tail keyword, and "where to buy cheap slippers" is a long-tail keyword. Short-tail keywords are typically more valuable than long-tail ones but are also notoriously hard to rank for.

      The video in the next card explains how to use long and short-tail keywords for SEO. https://youtu.be/4HQ80HnPnpM
